Newsmatics Inc.

See who’s behind the news you read. Explore available news outlet ownership, location, history, and more—right in Chrome.

BEFORE YOU TRUST THE STORY, KNOW WHO’S BEHIND IT. Every news story comes from somewhere. But how much do you know about the organization publishing it? Perspectify brings background information about news outlets into your browser, so you can learn more about the source while you read. EXPLORE THE SOURCE BEHIND THE NEWS Open the extension while visiting a supported news outlet to explore available profile information, which may include: • Ownership and parent organization — who is behind the outlet • Location — where the organization is based • History — when the outlet was founded • Other outlet attributes and background details, where available Not every profile contains every attribute. We are continuously expanding coverage, filling information gaps, and refining our data. USEFUL WHEREVER NEWS MATTERS • Readers — learn more about the sources you encounter • Journalists — research outlets and ownership relationships • PR professionals — evaluate outlets for outreach • Publishers — see how their outlets are represented and provide corrections • Students and researchers — explore media organizations and transparency SIMPLE TO USE 1. Visit a news outlet in Chrome. 2. Open Perspectify to view available information about the source. Optional settings may make access more convenient. 3. Use the context to form your own judgment. CONTEXT, NOT A VERDICT Perspectify offers information about news outlets, not instructions about what to believe. Outlet attributes, including any editorial or political-orientation labels where available, are pieces of context—not a definitive assessment of an individual story or its accuracy. Our profiles evolve as we gather information from outlet websites and other sources. We welcome feedback and corrections from readers and news outlets. You get the context. You make the call. PRIVACY AND TRANSPARENCY Perspectify is designed to provide outlet context without requiring you to submit the articles you read. For details on extension permissions and data handling, please review the current Perspectify privacy policy at perspectify.com before installing. FREE TO INSTALL Add Perspectify to Chrome and start discovering who’s behind the news you read. ABOUT NEWSMATICS Perspectify is developed by Newsmatics, a trust infrastructure company working to make information sources more identifiable, transparent, and accessible.
