Import copies your browser bookmarks into the Bookmax folder you selected and replaces nothing. Export puts a Bookmax folder into your bookmarks bar, or your whole selection into your browser bookmarks. Before an export replaces anything, the extension keeps a backup in your browser, so one click undoes it. Nothing is read or changed until you start it yourself.
