HB Code Browser Bridge
Lets your HB Code Desktop coding agent use your Chrome to search, read pages, take screenshots, and act in the tabs you request.
HB Code Browser Bridge lets the agent in HB Code Desktop work in your own Chrome. Ask it to research docs, read a page, fill in a form, click through a web app, or take a screenshot. Each step shows up in the run timeline, so you see what the agent saw and did. Works with Codex and Claude Code sessions. Codex runs on your own ChatGPT subscription, Claude Code on your own Claude account. Nothing extra to buy. HB Code is independent and not affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic. Codex is a trademark of OpenAI, Claude Code is a trademark of Anthropic. What the agent can do in Chrome: - open or reuse tabs, go back, forward, reload, and close the tabs it opened - search Google - read a page as text or Markdown, also inside iframes, shadow DOM, and long lists that load while you scroll - click, type, press keys, hover, drag and drop, scroll, pick options, and set checkboxes - attach a file you chose to an upload field, without submitting the form - answer alert, confirm, and prompt dialogs - report downloads, console messages, page errors, and failed requests - switch a tab to dark mode or a phone-size view for testing - take screenshots, with numbered marks on the controls if asked Clicks and typing use real Chrome input, so pages react as they do for a person. You always see when the agent works. The page shows a soft frame, a cursor, and a label such as Click "Save". The toolbar icon shows a dot. The popup shows the connection, the current action, and the last five actions. Chrome adds its own bar that says the extension is debugging the browser; it goes away about 30 seconds after the last action. Your data: - The extension acts only on commands from HB Code Desktop on your computer. - It never types into password or payment card fields. The agent asks you to fill them in. - It does not request cookie or history permission, and it does not export cookies. - Search sends the query to Google. To pick the right tab, HB Code Desktop gets the URLs and titles of your open tabs. - Pages, screenshots, URLs, and files you attach can hold private information. The results go to the agent, are kept in your local session, and are sent to the AI provider of that session: OpenAI for Codex, Anthropic for Claude Code. - Screenshots and full page reads are also saved in the local HB Code cache. This version does not delete them on its own. Setup: install HB Code Desktop and turn on Browser Bridge in Settings > Connections. Needs Chrome 125 or later.
