Zyrane Track
Overview
Records the website you work in for your Zyrane Track timesheet — only while your timer runs, never on a break.
Zyrane Track for Chrome is the browser companion to the Zyrane Track desktop app, used by companies to keep honest, automatic timesheets. The desktop app can see that you are in Chrome, but not which site you are working in. This extension fills that gap: it tells the Zyrane Track app on your own computer which website is open in the tab you are looking at — so your timesheet can show time spent in Google Docs, GitHub, Figma or your CRM instead of just "Chrome". IT ONLY RECORDS WHILE YOU ARE WORKING • Nothing is reported unless your Zyrane Track timer is running. • Nothing is reported while you are on a break. • Website time counts only while the browser is the window you are using. • A green dot on the toolbar icon means it is recording. No dot means nothing is being recorded. Click the icon and the popup says the same in words. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • It reports only the address and title of the tab you are looking at. It cannot read the contents of any page — it has no permission to. • In an incognito or private window it never reports the site, only the time, as "Private browsing". • It talks only to the Zyrane Track app on your own computer (127.0.0.1). It never contacts a server, and it holds no account details or passwords. • Your organization's own rules still apply in the desktop app: sites on its excluded list are dropped entirely, and during private time only the bare domain is kept. • Everything it does is written out on its own options page, so you can read exactly what it sends before you rely on it. SETS ITSELF UP • With the Zyrane Track desktop app running, the extension pairs with it by itself within a minute. There is nothing to type. • If it ever cannot pair, copy the pairing code from the desktop app's Settings into the extension's options page. WHO IT IS FOR This extension is for employees and teams whose company uses Zyrane Track (https://track.zyrane.in). It needs the Zyrane Track desktop app installed and signed in; on its own it does nothing. PERMISSIONS, AND WHY • Tabs — to read the address of the tab you are looking at. This is the extension's whole job. • Storage — to remember the pairing with the desktop app. • Alarms — to check once a minute whether your timer is running. • Access to 127.0.0.1 — to reach the desktop app on your own computer. No other site or server can be contacted. Questions or problems: info@zyrane.in
