Generate summary of selection or page.

Quickly read through a summary of the web page. Summaries are generated in-browser, on. your local machine - that's safer and faster. You can generate a summary of the entire page, or a selected portion of it, or auto-summarize all pages matching a domain or url segment. At install, why does the webstore say that Zummarize can read and modify data on pages? Primarily, note that Zummarize works entirely within your browser. No data leaves your browser and makes no external network connections. Read permission ... because the extension needs to know the contents of the web page to summarize it. Modify permission ... because the extension creates an overlay within the webpage at the top to show you the summary. It does not modify any other data on the page. v4.1: * fixed a bug where text size reverts to default when switching between S, M, L. Now it retains the size. * visual indication of when summaries are ready: "s, m, l" is shown in small size until the summaries are generated. Then it is S, M, L. v4.0: * after default size summarization is finished, it starts the remaining two in the background to be more responsive. * summaries are stored in the tab's session local storage, to avoid redoing summaries from scratch each time. local session storage is removed when tab is closed. * clicking on another summarization size (S, M, L) shows the available summary until the new summarization is complete. v3.8: Added Options button on overlay. Adding new domain to auto-summarize list does not open options page; also, current page is zummarized. Fix: an api error that required sending output language to api availability call. v3.7: User can redo summary with new small, medium, large summary buttons in the overlay. v3.6: fixed a bug where only key-points were showing. Now options like tldr, teaser, headline, and key-points (default) and length of summary takes effect. v3.4: added overlay font increase/decrease buttons A- and A+. Changing this does not change the default font size in the settings. v3.3: summarization is done locally, within your browser using new Summarizer API. Removed API key requirement. Improved UI. 3.2: Added better handling of check for local summarizer api. 3.3: fixes a bug where import urls file dialog was not showing. Requires minimum Chrome version 138, a machine with some minimum hardware requirements, and a downloaded summarizer model.
