Learn any language faster. Translate, correct your writing, and look up vocabulary using your own AI.

Zimantic is for people who read and write in a second language at work. It brings the words you meet and the texts you write into one place, and it runs on the AI model you choose: a model on your own computer, one your company hosts, or a cloud provider you pick. Zimantic has no server and no account. Your pages, words and writing go only to your model, and only when you ask. READ • Word Card: hold D and click any word, phrase or sentence. Its base form, meaning, grammar, examples and a memory hint, in the language you are learning, with the translation in yours. • Word Swap: a few words of a page in your own language turn into the language you are learning, chosen for your level and from the words you are learning. • Translation under paragraphs: a thin bar under each paragraph shows its translation when you want it, and hides it again. • Reading help: glosses for the hard words, then simpler phrasing, then a translation, one step at a time. • Known-word colours, saved words underlined on later pages, and workplace terms that keep coming back. • PDFs open in Zimantic's reader with the same Word Cards and translation; text in images can be read with a model that sees images. WRITE • Improve, Make formal, Make casual, Summarize, Expand, Explain, Tone check and Reply in the sender's register, in any text box. Each correction comes with its reason. • Replace keeps your formatting: only the changed words are rewritten, and Ctrl+Z undoes it. • Check underlines the mistakes in the box you are writing in; click to fix one, or fix them all. • Corrections you accept can become review cards, and Zimantic shows the mistakes you keep making. REMEMBER • Review with spaced repetition: flip, type the word, fill the gap, or type what you hear, with a new example sentence each time. • A daily limit, so reviews never pile up, and "studied 45 of the last 50 days" instead of a streak that breaks. • Say it back (off by default): read the sentence aloud and see which words were heard differently. • Export your deck as CSV, for Anki, or as a full JSON backup. YOUR MODEL, YOUR DATA • Works with any OpenAI-compatible API, on your own computer or in the cloud. The setup wizard finds a local model and tests it. • Options → Activity lists every request that left your browser: when, which feature, which host, how many characters.
