Overview

Automatically records Google Meet calls locally (tab video, remote audio, and your microphone). No account, no upload, no limits.

Free Google Meet recorder that saves your calls straight to your own computer. No sign-in, no cloud account, no subscription, and no limit on how long or how often you record. ZevRecords is a local screen recorder built specifically for Google Meet. It captures the meeting video, the other participants' audio, and your own microphone into a single video file on your machine. HOW IT WORKS Join a Google Meet call and recording starts automatically. (Chrome requires one click on the ZevRecords toolbar icon the first time you record a tab; after that it is hands-free.) Leave the call and the recording is written to your computer as a .webm video file. A red "REC" badge sits on the toolbar while recording, and you can pause, resume, or stop at any time from the side panel. YOU CHOOSE WHERE RECORDINGS ARE SAVED • Straight to your Downloads folder, or • Into a named folder inside Downloads, to keep meetings tidy, or • "Ask me for each recording", which opens Chrome's own Save dialog so you can put the file in any folder on your computer. After every recording the side panel shows the full path of the file it just wrote, so you can see exactly where your video landed. WHAT GETS RECORDED • The meeting video: screen shares and camera tiles, whatever Meet is showing on screen • Remote participants' audio • Your own microphone (with your one-time permission) All three are mixed into one .webm file that plays in Chrome, VLC, and most video editors. WHY PEOPLE USE ZEVRECORDS • Free Google Meet recording without a Google Workspace upgrade • No time limit, no monthly cap, and no watermark on your video • No meeting bot: nothing joins your call or shows up in the participant list • Nothing is uploaded, so recordings of private or confidential calls stay private • A built-in library of past recordings in the Chrome side panel, with one-click Open and Show in folder • Choose 480p, 720p, or 1080p to balance quality against disk space • Works on Windows, macOS, and Linux, on Chrome 116 and newer PRIVACY BY DESIGN ZevRecords does not upload, transmit, or share anything. There is no backend server, no analytics, and no account. Your recording is written directly to the folder you choose using Chrome's own download API, and it never leaves your device. WHO IT'S FOR Anyone who wants a simple, free way to keep a local copy of a Meet call: students recording online classes and lectures, teams saving standups and client calls for notes, trainers building a library of sessions, and support staff keeping a record of a walkthrough. It is a practical alternative to paying for a Workspace add-on or a third-party recording bot. A REMINDER ON CONSENT Recording a call may be subject to your organization's policies and to local law. Google Meet does not show its own recording notice for this capture method, so please tell the other participants that you are recording before you start.
