Overview

Click an element, or drag a frame. Captured with pixel-perfect precision, zero cropping.

🚀 Stop cropping your screenshots. Click an element, or drag a frame. ZeroCrop detects HTML elements on any web page in real time. Aim at a button, a div, a table or an image: the element is captured with pixel-perfect precision, no extra margins, no missing content. And when no element frames what you want, draw the area yourself. 🆕 New in 1.3.0: draw your own capture area with the mouse. ✨ FEATURES: ⚡ Smart detection A frame follows the element under your cursor and shows its type (div, button, img…). You see what you are about to capture before you click. 🖱️ Hand-drawn area Press, drag, release: the rectangle you swept is captured. The rest of the page dims while you draw and the frame shows its size in pixels, so you see your framing before you commit to it. Escape drops the rectangle without leaving capture mode. The selection stays within what is on screen. 🧠 Three capture engines • Standard: Fast rendering from the page DOM. • High Fidelity: Capture via Chrome DevTools protocol, pixel-perfect. Handles complex CSS, shadows, gradients, 3D transforms and sticky elements. • Visible area: Used for hand-drawn selections. Captures what the browser displays, third-party iframes included. ⬛ Masking before capture Black out sensitive data or remove a distracting element before you trigger the capture. Shift + click lays down a block that follows the lines of text, Alt + click makes the element disappear, Ctrl+Z undoes it. Masks apply to elements and hand-drawn areas alike, and the page returns to its original state right after the capture. 📐 Adjustable padding (High Fidelity mode) Add 0 to 50 px of space around the captured element. A dashed preview shows the extended area before capture. 🎨 Format and export PNG, JPEG or WebP, with adjustable quality. Save to disk, copy to clipboard, or both. ⚙️ Synced settings Your preferences follow your Chrome account. 🔒 PRIVACY: The extension only activates when you click its icon. Nothing is ever sent to a server: every capture is produced and saved on your own machine. Why the "Debugger" permission? High Fidelity mode uses the Chrome DevTools protocol to capture elements that standard tools can't handle. This mode is optional and never runs unless you pick it. Why capture the visible tab? Drawing an area means capturing pixels rather than an element, so ZeroCrop asks Chrome for an image of the visible tab and crops it locally to your rectangle. This happens only for the area you drew, and only when you draw one. 📋 LATEST UPDATES: 1.3.0: the capture area can now be drawn with the mouse, without going through a page element. 1.2.1 (Aug 21, 2026): masking now works on SVG icons and charts, no longer leaves text readable on some pages, and is no longer blocked by other installed extensions. 1.2.0 (Aug 20, 2026): mask an element before capturing, as a solid block or a blur.
