Closes every tab at your daily cutoff. Yesterday's clutter stops taxing your attention and your RAM.

Every tab closes at your cutoff. Your attention is finite, and every open tab keeps a claim on it. An open tab is an unfinished decision: something you meant to read or deal with, and didn't. Research on task switching shows that unfinished business keeps claiming attention until a deadline ends it — and studies of tab overload find that most people hang on to tabs they know they will never read, and feel worse for it. If you have twenty minutes to read one article, you should spend them reading it, not choosing among twenty. zero-tabbox is that deadline. It closes every open tab at times of day you choose. That is all it does. Pick up to four cutoffs a day. Before each one the toolbar badge counts down, and one system notification tells you the time is coming. At the cutoff every tab in every window closes, and you are left with a single clean new tab. There is no archive, no history, no restore and no snooze. If a page matters, bookmark it — "Bookmark all tabs" in the popup writes the open tabs to a dated folder in your own bookmarks, and a setting can do that automatically before every cutoff. Pinned tabs can be kept. Nothing is scheduled until you have read and accepted the terms on the page shown at install. Until then the extension does nothing at all. Privacy: the extension makes no network request of any kind. It has no host permissions and no content scripts. Tab titles and URLs are read only to count tabs, close them and write the bookmarks you ask for; they are never stored by the extension or sent anywhere.
