Zenfeed — LinkedIn, X & YouTube Feed Control

)Overview
Declutter your LinkedIn, X, and YouTube feed. Rest from AI on a timer, block keywords, hide promoted posts. 100% local, no account.
If you use LinkedIn, X, or YouTube, you probably know this feeling. Your feed is full of promoted posts, "people you may know" suggestions, and so much AI-generated content that you end up scrolling past the real posts from real people without even noticing them. I built Zenfeed, a small Chrome extension, to fix that for myself, and now anyone can use it. Zenfeed declutters your LinkedIn, X, and YouTube feed, right in your browser. Each site gets its own tab in the popup with its own switches, so turning something off on X leaves LinkedIn alone. On LinkedIn and X it hides ads and upsells, suggested posts, and posts matching your own keywords, and it can give your feed a timed break from AI content. On YouTube it does less, on purpose, and only after you switch it on. Rest from AI This is the feature I built Zenfeed around. AI posts aren't a problem because they're bad. They're a problem because there are so many of them that they bury the posts from the people you actually follow. Turn on Rest from AI for 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes, or type your own length, and Zenfeed hides AI-related posts for that window, then brings everything back automatically when the timer ends, with a live countdown in the popup and on the toolbar badge. It works by matching keywords and heuristics against the post's text and its image alt text, so it isn't a perfect detector: it will miss some posts, and it will occasionally catch one that just happened to be about AI. Ads & upsells This one is on from the start. On LinkedIn it hides "Promoted" and "Sponsored" posts and the ad in the right sidebar. On X it hides "Ad" and "Promoted" posts and the prompts asking you to buy Premium. On YouTube, once you've turned it on, it covers sponsored videos in the feed. More filters, each off until you turn it on - Suggested posts, on LinkedIn and X: "People you may know", "Who to follow", "You might like", and similar modules. - Company Pages, on LinkedIn: posts from Company, Showcase, and School Pages, so you mostly see posts from people. - Grok posts, on X: Grok answers, shared Grok chats, and posts that tag @grok. - The Shorts shelf, on YouTube. Hide and Show keywords Add a word to your Hide list and Zenfeed collapses matching posts as you scroll. Add it to your Show list instead and matching posts stay visible even when another filter would have caught them, so a suggested post from a topic you care about still gets through. Ads and Rest from AI still win. One keyword list covers LinkedIn, X, and YouTube, and matching happens on your device. Nothing gets deleted On LinkedIn and X, each hidden post becomes a small bar you can click to bring it back. If you'd rather not see the bar, switch off "Collapse posts" for that site and hidden posts are removed from view. The popup shows how many posts each site has hidden today and in total. On YouTube YouTube support is deliberately narrower than LinkedIn and X, and it starts switched off. Open the Zenfeed popup, go to the YouTube tab, turn on YouTube filtering, and Chrome will ask you to allow access to youtube.com. Until you do that, Zenfeed doesn't touch YouTube at all. Once it's on, sponsored videos, Rest from AI, and your keyword lists work on Home, Subscriptions, and search results, and there's a separate switch for the Shorts shelf. Filtered videos are blurred in place rather than collapsed into a bar, so the grid keeps its shape, and clicking one brings it back. 100% local. No backend, no tracking, no account. It's a privacy-first tool: Zenfeed reads your feed's text locally in your browser to decide what to collapse. Nothing is sent anywhere, there's no account to create, and there's no analytics running in the background. It's free and it doesn't show ads. There's a "Buy me a pizza" link in the popup if you want to say thanks, but nothing is locked behind it. Works on LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and YouTube. Chrome only for now. This is a small, one-person project, so if something's not working right or you want a feature, I'd genuinely like to hear about it.
