M3U8 / HLS TO MP4 WITH FFMPEG Open an HLS download in a dedicated tab, choose an available quality and follow the progress in real time. The bundled FFmpeg engine processes the stream locally and creates a broadly compatible MP4 file. No video is uploaded to Zap servers. DIRECT VIDEO AND AUDIO DOWNLOADS Save supported MP4, WebM, MP3, M4A and other direct media files through Chrome's download manager. Downloads start only after you choose a file. LIVE STREAM RECORDING For supported HLS broadcasts, Zap can collect the available stream segments and save the resulting recording when you stop it. Availability depends on the source website and stream configuration. PRIVACY BY DESIGN Media detection and HLS processing happen locally in your browser. Zap does not use analytics, advertising trackers or developer-operated conversion servers, and it does not sell browsing data. NO ACCOUNTS OR DAILY QUOTAS Zap does not require registration and does not impose an artificial daily download count. Browser, device, network and source-website limitations may still apply. WIDE WEBSITE COMPATIBILITY Zap works with many video websites, social video pages and streaming platforms. Websites can change their players and access rules, so a particular source may not always be available. YouTube is intentionally not supported. HOW TO USE ZAP Open a page containing the video or audio you want to save. Start playback if the file has not appeared yet. Click the Zap Video Downloader icon. Choose the available format or quality. Direct files download through Chrome; HLS streams open in a progress tab for local MP4 processing.
