YT Search Helper

Cleans up YouTube search results, optional URL tuning, and Shorts handling.

YT Search Helper is a lightweight browser extension for people who want a more focused YouTube search fixer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. What it can do: Search results — Remove or reduce common clutter: recommendation shelves, horizontal suggestion rows, Shorts shelves and Shorts video tiles, playlist and mix tiles, channel cards, live/premiere rows, and more (all optional in settings). Shorts — Optionally open Shorts URLs as a normal watch page instead of the Shorts player. URL tuning — Optionally simplify noisy search URLs and use a stricter “videos-only” style filter when you want tighter results. Loop safety — URL redirects use a short cooldown so you don’t get stuck in refresh loops. Simple controls — Toolbar popup for on/off; full settings page for every toggle. Privacy No accounts, no analytics, and no telemetry in this extension. Your choices are stored with Chrome sync storage (same as other extensions that save settings). Permissions: Storage — Saves your settings. YouTube sites — So the extension can run only on youtube.com / m.youtube.com where it’s needed. If anything stops working after a YouTube layout update, try toggling options or reporting the page type you’re on; the site changes often.
