Overview
Add precise A/B looping and playback-speed controls to YouTube for music practice.
YT Music Looper adds visual A/B looping and playback-speed controls directly to YouTube, making it easier to practice music, study performances, repeat difficult sections, and work through lessons without constantly dragging YouTube’s normal progress bar. The extension is designed as a lightweight companion to YTMusicTrainer.com. It adds a dedicated practice panel below the YouTube video without covering the video or replacing YouTube’s native controls. With YT Music Looper you can: • Set a precise loop start point • Set a precise loop end point • Turn looping on or off • Create and manage multiple loops for the current video • Drag loop start and end points visually • Move an entire loop earlier or later while preserving its length • Zoom in on a small section of a long video for more precise editing • Nudge loop boundaries forward or backward in small increments • Adjust playback speed • Save loop information locally in your browser • Return to a video and continue working with previously saved loop settings • Open the current video, playback position, and loop information in YTMusicTrainer.com for additional practice tools PRECISE LOOPING FOR LONG VIDEOS A normal video progress bar can make it difficult to select a short musical phrase inside a long lesson, concert, or instructional video. YT Music Looper includes both an overview timeline and a more detailed loop-editing timeline. For example, if you want to practice a 10-second passage inside a two-hour video, the detail timeline can zoom into that small section so the loop remains large enough to adjust accurately. You can visually drag: • The A handle to change the loop start • The B handle to change the loop end • The loop region itself to move the entire loop while keeping its duration unchanged Fine-adjustment controls let you move loop boundaries by small increments when dragging is not precise enough. PLAYBACK SPEED CONTROL YT Music Looper also provides convenient playback-speed controls so you can slow down difficult passages or gradually bring them back up to full speed. This can be especially useful for: • Guitar practice • Bass practice • Piano practice • Drum practice • Transcription • Ear training • Learning solos • Studying instructional videos • Practicing choreography or physical demonstrations • Repeating short sections of lectures or tutorials MULTIPLE LOOPS You can create multiple loop regions within the same video. This makes it possible to divide a longer lesson, solo, song, or performance into several smaller practice sections and quickly move between them. For example, a musician could create separate loops for: • Intro • Verse • Chorus • Solo • Difficult transition • Ending The extension keeps the loop controls visual and easy to use rather than relying on keyboard shortcuts. DESIGNED TO WORK WITH YOUTUBE, NOT REPLACE IT YT Music Looper uses the video that is already playing on YouTube. It does not create a separate video player. It does not download video or audio. It does not replace YouTube’s player. It does not hide YouTube’s controls. It does not block or skip advertisements. It does not intercept YouTube media streams. The YT Music Looper panel is placed below the video so that the YouTube player remains visible and usable normally. OPEN IN YTMUSICTRAINER YT Music Looper is a companion to YTMusicTrainer.com. When you want additional practice tools, use the “Open in YTMusicTrainer” button. The extension can send the current YouTube video ID, current playback position, and your loop information to YTMusicTrainer.com so you can continue working with the same video. YTMusicTrainer.com provides a broader music-practice environment, while the browser extension is intentionally focused on quick looping and playback control directly on YouTube. LOCAL STORAGE YT Music Looper may store practice information locally in your browser so your loop settings can be restored when you return to a video. This may include information such as: • YouTube video ID • Loop start and end positions • Loop names or labels • Playback-speed preference This information is used to provide the extension’s practice functionality. The extension does not require an account for basic looping features. SIMPLE, VISUAL WORKFLOW A typical practice session looks like this: 1. Open a YouTube video. 2. Play to the beginning of the section you want to practice. 3. Select Set Start. 4. Continue playing to the end of the section. 5. Select Set End. 6. Turn Loop on. 7. Drag or nudge the loop boundaries until the section is exactly right. 8. Adjust playback speed if needed. 9. Create additional loops for other parts of the video. 10. Open the video in YTMusicTrainer.com if you want additional practice tools. YT Music Looper is intended to make repeated practice sections fast and visual without requiring you to repeatedly scrub through the full YouTube timeline. PRIVACY YT Music Looper is designed to use minimal permissions and collect as little information as possible. The extension operates on YouTube pages in order to provide looping and playback controls for the video you are currently watching. Loop information may be stored locally in Chrome. Information is sent to YTMusicTrainer.com only when you explicitly choose to open the current video in YTMusicTrainer. YT Music Looper does not sell personal information. YT Music Looper is an independent extension associated with YTMusicTrainer.com and is not an official YouTube or Google product.
