YT Control+ is a lightweight browser extension designed to give users more control over their YouTube viewing experience. The extension adds precise playback-speed controls directly to the YouTube video player, allowing speeds from 0.25× up to 5× with fine-grained adjustment. Users can quickly change speed, select an exact value with a slider, or reset playback to the normal 1× speed. The selected playback speed is remembered and remains synchronized between the in-player controls and the extension popup. YT Control+ also includes an optional YouTube Shorts blocking feature. When enabled, it prevents direct navigation to Shorts at the browser request level and removes common Shorts content from YouTube pages, while remaining fully reversible through a simple toggle. The extension is intentionally minimal and privacy-focused. It does not collect analytics, browsing history, account information, video history, or personal data. It does not use remote code or communicate with external servers. Only the user's playback-speed and Shorts-blocking preferences are stored locally in the browser. YT Control+ is intended to provide a cleaner, more customizable YouTube experience without changing or interfering with unrelated websites or browser activity. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google or YouTube.
