Overview

One click bulk-removes all visible YouTube channel recommendations using YouTube's built-in 'Don't recommend channel' action.

YT Channel Blocker adds a single red button to YouTube. Click it once, and the extension walks every video tile currently visible on the page and triggers YouTube's own built-in "Don't recommend channel" action on each one — the same action you'd take by clicking the three-dot menu on a video and selecting it manually. If your home feed, Shorts shelf, or sidebar is full of channels you have no interest in, you no longer have to dismiss them one at a time. Scroll, click the button, scroll again, click again. In a few passes your recommendations stop suggesting the noise and start suggesting what you actually watch. WHAT IT DOES • Adds a fixed "Block visible channels" button in the bottom-right corner of youtube.com. • On click, iterates over every video tile in the current viewport area of the DOM. • For each tile, opens the tile's menu and selects "Don't recommend channel" if YouTube offers it. • Reports a running count and a final summary (X removed, Y skipped) on the button itself. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • It does not collect, store, transmit, or share any data. Ever. • It does not contact any server. There is no backend. • It does not use analytics, telemetry, ads, or third-party scripts. • It does not modify YouTube's video player, comments, search results, or account settings. • It does not run on any site other than youtube.com. • It does not require a login or an account with us — there is no "us" to log in to. PERMISSIONS The extension requests access to https://www.youtube.com/* only. This is the minimum required to inject the button on YouTube pages and click YouTube's own menu items on your behalf. No other host permissions, no storage permission, no tabs permission, no scripting permission beyond the content script that runs on youtube.com. PRIVACY All processing is local to your browser. The full privacy policy is linked from the store listing. KNOWN LIMITS • The button operates on tiles already rendered in the DOM. To clean further down the feed, scroll to load more, then click again. • If YouTube changes its menu markup, the "Don't recommend channel" item may temporarily not be found until the extension is updated. The button will report skipped tiles in that case rather than failing silently. • YouTube treats "Don't recommend channel" as a soft signal — strongly disliked channels can still reappear over time. This extension just makes it cheap to keep telling YouTube no. OPEN AND AUDITABLE The extension is a single content script (~130 lines) plus a manifest. No bundler, no minification, no obfuscation. The code that ships in the .zip is the code that runs in your browser.
