Learn languages from the pages you read and the YouTube videos you watch. Wordy keeps words, translations, and their original context together, so you can understand the content in front of you without breaking your flow. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Contextual dictionary Select or copy a word or phrase, then open Wordy to see its translation together with the sentence where it appeared. • Selection translation Highlight text on a supported web page and use the Wordy button or right-click command to open a compact translation beside the selection. • YouTube bilingual subtitles Watch the original caption and its translation at the same time. Swap the original and translated lines, change the subtitle size, or return to a single line whenever you want. • On-demand page translation Right-click a page to translate its visible text into your native language. Use the same menu to restore the original page. • Your language pair Choose a learning language and a native language from 14 supported languages. Wordy remembers your feature and subtitle display preferences through Chrome. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Wordy uses Chrome's built-in Translator and Language Detector APIs. Translation runs in the browser with Chrome-managed language packs. Wordy has no account, ads, analytics, or developer-operated translation server, and it does not send your page text, captions, URLs, or translations to the developer. Your language and display preferences may sync through Chrome Sync when you enable it. Copied text and page context are kept only temporarily in the browser to complete the feature you requested. REQUIREMENTS Wordy requires desktop Chrome 138 or later. Chrome may need to download a language pack the first time you use a language pair. Browser-protected pages and videos without captions are not supported.
