YouTube Watch Stats gives you a clear picture of how you spend time on YouTube. It tracks every video and Short you watch, organizes your history by date, and presents your viewing patterns through a clean analytics dashboard — all without sending a single byte of data off your computer. No account. No sign-up. No cloud. Just install and browse YouTube as usual. HOW IT WORKS Once installed, the extension runs quietly in the background. After 30 seconds of watch time on a video (or 3 seconds on a Short), it records the session locally. Click the extension icon anytime for a quick summary of today's activity, or open the full Stats page for deeper analysis. WHAT YOU GET Stats Dashboard A full-page dashboard showing your total watch time, video count, and Shorts count. Use the date range selector to filter by 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 12 months, all time, or any custom range you define. Summary cards, charts, and lists all update together in real time. Interactive Charts Visualize your viewing trends with bar or line charts. The chart automatically adapts its time scale — daily for short ranges, weekly for a few months, monthly or yearly for longer periods — so it always looks readable regardless of how much data you have. Video Thumbnails Every entry in your history and top videos list shows its YouTube thumbnail, making it easy to recognize videos at a glance. Shorts appear in portrait orientation for instant visual distinction. Unified Watch History All your watched videos and Shorts live in one searchable list. Filter by All, Videos, or Shorts using a dropdown toggle. Your preference is remembered between sessions. Each entry shows the time you watched it, a thumbnail, title, and play count. Top Videos & Top Channels See which videos you spent the most time on and which channels you watch most frequently within your selected date range. Top videos include a one-click copy button for sharing links. Search Find any video or Short instantly by title or URL — both in the full Stats page and in the compact popup. Import & Export Back up your entire watch history as a JSON file and restore it anytime. When importing, choose between merging with your existing data or replacing it entirely. The merge logic is smart enough to avoid duplicating stats if you import the same file twice. PRIVACY AND DATA Your data is stored entirely in your browser using Chrome's local storage. There are no external servers, no analytics, no telemetry, and no accounts. The extension only requires access to YouTube pages to detect playback — nothing else.
