YouTube Transcript — Copy & Export
Overview
Copy YouTube captions, estimate tokens and build bounded AI context packs with timestamps. Everything runs locally.
Copy, search and export the captions already available on the YouTube video you are watching. Useful for: • Copying a transcript as clean text with timestamps • Searching a word or quote inside a long video • Jumping back to the exact moment • Exporting TXT, SRT, VTT or timestamped Markdown • Estimating transcript token cost before sending it to an AI assistant • Splitting long transcripts into bounded context parts • Building grounded context packs for analysis, study notes, quotes or an article outline • Switching between caption languages offered by the video Open a YouTube watch page, click the extension, then choose Get transcript. It accesses only the active video after your click. Context packs keep timestamps so claims can be checked against the source. Privacy and limits: The extension runs locally. It does not download video or audio, bypass unavailable captions, require an account or API key, track behavior, or send transcripts to Kamnevapps. It works only when YouTube or the video creator provides captions.
