Overview

Adds a download button to the YouTube transcript panel that saves the transcript as a text file

Download YouTube transcripts as text in one click. YouTube Transcript Downloader adds a download button right inside YouTube's transcript panel. Save the full transcript of any video as a clean .txt file and choose exactly where it goes on your computer. Features - One-click download: Button appears in the transcript panel; no copy-paste. - Two formats: Export grouped by 5-minute sections, or by the video's real chapters (title + timestamp headers, clean continuous text). - Pick your save location: Native "Save as" dialog lets you choose the folder and remembers it next time. - Works everywhere: Supports both YouTube transcript layouts (classic and the new "In this video" panel). - Private: No account, no tracking, no data collected. Runs only on youtube.com. How to use it 1. Open a YouTube video — you land on the video page. 2. Scroll down and click Show transcript — the transcript panel opens on the right. 3. Click the download button in the transcript panel (top-right). 4. If the video has chapters, choose "Grouped by 5 minutes" or "Grouped by chapters". Videos without chapters skip this step. 5. Pick where to save the text file. 6. Done
