Overview

Bookmark exact YouTube seconds. Notes and tags, press B, jump back. Works offline. Sign in to sync.

Bookmark exact seconds on YouTube. Add timestamp notes and tags, then jump back to that clip whenever you need it. YouTube Timestamp is a Chrome extension for YouTube bookmarks: it saves the precise second, not a chapter list or timestamp links for videos you publish. Use it fully offline on this device with no account. Local bookmarks are unlimited. Optional Google sign-in syncs your library to the web dashboard (youtubetimestamp.com) and other browsers. Free cloud sync covers 100 timestamps. Pro unlocks unlimited cloud sync and folders on the web. Key Features: • Bookmark exact YouTube seconds with one key (B) or the bookmark control on the player • Timestamp notes and tags on every saved clip • Visual timeline markers on the YouTube watch page • Searchable popup library grouped by video • Filter by tags and jump straight to a bookmarked time • Local-first storage that works offline without an account • Optional Google sign-in to sync across devices and open youtubetimestamp.com • Free accounts sync up to 100 timestamps; Pro unlocks unlimited cloud sync and folders on the web • Interface available in 8 languages How to Use: 1. Watch any YouTube video 2. Press B, or click the bookmark icon near the player controls 3. Add optional tags and a short note, then save 4. Open the toolbar popup to search, filter by tag, or jump to a moment 5. Optional: sign in to back up your library, sync other browsers, and use the web dashboard 6. Optional: upgrade to Pro from the account menu when you need unlimited cloud sync Perfect for: • Students bookmarking lecture and tutorial timestamps with notes • Researchers collecting YouTube clip timestamps as references • Creators organizing source material (this is not a chapter maker) • Anyone who wants a YouTube bookmark they can search later Privacy & Permissions: • Timestamps, notes, and tags are stored on your device (chrome.storage.local) and stay available offline. • Optional account connection uses Google sign-in through our backend so we can recognize your archive account. • When connected, timestamps sync with your account so they appear in the web dashboard and on other signed-in browsers. Existing local timestamps are merged automatically. • Free accounts can sync up to 100 timestamps. Beyond that limit, new saves stay on this device only until you upgrade or delete synced timestamps. Signed-out use remains unlimited and local-only. • Pro is billed through Dodo Payments on our hosted billing page. We never receive or store card numbers. • When connected, the extension stores short-lived auth credentials and a minimal profile (name, email, avatar) locally. Disconnect removes them and revokes the server session. • Optional anonymous crash reporting (errors only) is sent through our backend so we can fix bugs. It never includes notes, tags, video titles, or tokens. Turn it off in the account menu after signing in. No ads or product-analytics SDKs. • When you are signed in and save a timestamp, the extension may upload that video's official captions (timed transcript text, language, and duration) to a shared cache on our servers unless you turn off transcript capture in the account menu. On YouTube it only keeps caption-track responses the player already loads; it may briefly turn captions on after a save so the player loads them. Captions are not part of your private library and are not included in crash reports. • The extension needs access to YouTube so it can add the bookmark control on watch pages and copy that video's captions when you save a timestamp while signed in. • The identity permission is used only for the optional account connection flow. • The alarms permission is used to retry background sync while signed in. • API calls to our backend use an allowlisted extension origin (no separate backend host permission). • UI fonts load from Google Fonts when you open the popup or use the on-page save UI. • The popup may load video thumbnails from YouTube's CDN (i.ytimg.com). • The Feedback button opens a Tally form only when you click it. • Full details: see the Privacy policy linked on this listing.
