)Overview
Adds a direct 'Don't recommend channel' button to YouTube Shorts.
Have you been annoyed by unwanted videos constantly appearing while watching YouTube Shorts? This extension adds an intuitive 🚫 (Don't recommend channel) button directly to the bottom right of the Shorts screen (above the Like button). Without having to search for and click hidden menus, a single click automatically prevents videos from that channel from being recommended and smoothly transitions to the next video. Create a pleasant YouTube viewing experience! --- # YouTube Shorts Curator - Version Update History ## v1.2 (UI Layout Stabilization & Latest Hotfixes) - **Major Button Positioning Change (Absolute Coordinate Rendering):** - Completely abandoned the risky attempt to inject the button into YouTube's complex "Subscribe" button container (which involves Shadow DOM and `overflow: hidden`). - Finalized the fix by placing the button outside the container (on the video overlay itself) using `position: absolute`, floating it in the empty space to the right at the same vertical level as the "Subscribe" button. - This eliminates clipping issues and rendering delays, ensuring the button's position remains perfectly fixed. - **Button Design Optimization:** - Slightly reduced the button size (48px -> 36px) to better match the "Subscribe" button. - Adjusted the hover tooltip to appear **above** the button, preventing it from extending off-screen. - **Exception Handling for "Zombie" Script Errors:** - Added error handling for the "Extension context invalidated" issue, where the script would crash if the `chrome.i18n` connection was lost in an existing tab after a forced extension refresh. --- ## v1.1 ### 🚀 Performance & UI Improvements (Optimistic UI Applied) - **Introduced Instant (0-Second) Rendering:** - Completely removed the timer logic that previously waited 0.1 to 3 seconds for YouTube's UI elements (such as the right-side icon column) to render. - Buttons now appear instantly—in "0 seconds"—in the open space (at safe, fixed coordinates) as soon as you scroll, providing a seamless user experience without delays. - Removed over 60 lines of heavy background scanning code, drastically reducing browser resource usage. ### 🐛 Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements - **Prevented Product Panel Malfunctions:** - Fixed a bug where the script would misinterpret the UI when new elements—such as the shopping bag icon ("View related products")—appeared on the screen. - Tightened filtering logic: instead of loosely matching button text (aria-label), the script now triggers **only upon a 100% match with "View more"**. - **Fixed "Three-Dot Menu" Double-Click Bug:** - Resolved a timeout issue where the three-dot menu would occasionally open and immediately close within 0.001 seconds, causing the script to stop functioning. - Fixed a bug where the forced-click function sent duplicate signals to both the button body and its wrapper (`yt-icon-button`); restored standard single-click behavior. - **Improved Button Targeting Precision:** - Updated logic to handle YouTube UI changes: if the button wrapper is selected, the script now automatically tracks and clicks the internal `<button>` tag where the actual click event listener resides. - Optimized the search algorithm to avoid targeting stale, cached transparent menu elements. --- ## v1.0 (Initial Release) - Configured initial build for Chrome Web Store review (includes English/Korean i18n support). - Implemented fallback navigation combining arrow key events (`ArrowDown`) and forced scrolling to prevent `player.nextVideo()` errors.
