what if instead of redirecting the links when i view the tab what if instead it redirected the links BEFORE i click them changing the URL destination of the shorts featured on my For You and Sub feeds to normal videos

Hides shorts in search results, I haven't used it too long but seems to work! :D

The fact that despite paying for YouTube Premium, I still need a plug-in so I don't have to endure YouTube shorts on a 16:9 screen beggars belief Google - this plug-in does exactly as advertised, removes Shorts from things like your subs page. Just make it an option, or a completely separate menu item Google.
