Overview
Hover a YouTube video, get an AI summary, then ask it anything about the video.
Decide if a YouTube video is worth your time before you watch it. YouTube Quick AI Summary adds a small button on thumbnails, search results, the homepage, and Shorts. When you click on the button, it shows an AI chat box with the summary of the video. You can ask questions and talk to the AI about the video without even opening it. HOW IT WORKS • Hover a thumbnail (or open a Short) and click the spark. • Get a first summary, or skip it and only open the chat. • Ask follow-ups, request timestamps, or get related-video ideas. • Click a timestamp in the reply to jump to that moment (when you are on the watch page). • Export the conversation if you want to keep it. SETTINGS (toolbar popup) • Summary language — replies in the language you choose. • Include initial summary? — turn off auto-summarize if you prefer to open chat first (useful when you want to avoid spoilers). • Summary response — Super short, Short, or Complete for the first message only. PRIVACY No data sent to any servers. Summaries use YouTube’s built-in AI (Gemini) while you are signed in on YouTube. Your language, length preference, and a short local cache stay in your browser. Uninstalling the extension removes that data. NOTES • You need to be signed into YouTube. • This extension is not affiliated with YouTube or Google. If the extension saves you time, a review or a coffee is hugely appreciated.
