YouTube Focus

Black out distractions around the YouTube player. Move to dim, scroll to reveal.

Watch the video. Let the rest fade away. YouTube Focus blacks out the page around the video player, so recommendations, comments, and the header stop competing for your attention. Stay in the normal or theater layout with your video and player controls clearly visible. HOW IT WORKS • After 5 seconds without activity, the surrounding page turns black. • Move your mouse to soften the blackout without removing it. • Click outside the player or scroll to reveal the page immediately. • When you return to the top and stop interacting, focus mode comes back after your chosen delay. MAKE IT YOURS • Adjust the inactivity delay from 1 to 60 seconds (default: 5 seconds). • Set the dim opacity from 10% to 95% (default: 70%). • Turn focus mode on or off from the extension popup. BUILT FOR EVERYDAY WATCHING • Supports standard YouTube watch pages in normal and theater layouts. • Leaves fullscreen and picture-in-picture clear. • Keeps the player and its controls usable, including when paused. • Does not activate on Shorts, the home page, or search results. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Settings stay on your device. No analytics, tracking, account signup, or external servers. The extension only runs on YouTube. After installation, refresh any already-open YouTube tabs to start using the extension. YouTube Focus is an independent extension and is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
