YouTube Essentials strips away the distracting parts of YouTube while keeping everything you actually need. It hides the home feed's recommendation grid (replacing it with a simple search prompt), removes Shorts from the sidebar, search results, and home feed, disables autoplay, hides end-of-video and mid-pause recommendation grids, and hides comments. Search, direct video links, playlists, and normal playback are completely unaffected — this only removes the parts of YouTube designed to keep you scrolling. Every feature can be toggled independently from the extension popup, so you can turn any of them on or off based on your needs.
