YouTube Dopamine Detox
Overview
Hide YouTube dopamine traps and keep the learning value.
YouTube Dopamine Detox is a Chrome extension that helps you use YouTube more intentionally. It is not a full website blocker. Instead, it reduces the parts of YouTube that commonly pull you into random videos, while keeping YouTube usable for learning, work, and research. Use it when you want to watch the video you came for without getting pulled into Shorts, the home feed, related videos, comments, autoplay, or end screen suggestions. Main features: - Hide Shorts links and shelves - Hide the YouTube home feed - Hide related videos on watch pages - Optionally hide comments - Disable autoplay - Hide end screen suggestions - Ask for a purpose before YouTube opens - Save recent purpose logs locally in Chrome storage - Set a focused session length Privacy: The extension does not require an account. Settings and recent purpose logs are stored locally using Chrome storage. The extension does not send your purpose logs or YouTube browsing history to an external server. Note: YouTube changes its interface over time, so some hiding rules may need updates in future versions.
