Overview

Export YouTube video or Shorts comments and replies to CSV, JSON, XLSX for feedback review, audience research, handoff, archives.

Export YouTube public video comments and replies to CSV, JSON, or XLSX for feedback review, audience research, and local archiving. Web Tidy YouTube Comment Exporter is built for content operators, creators, researchers, support teams, community managers, and teams that need to organize public video feedback. Open a public YouTube video or Short and save the comments and replies available in the current public context as a local file. Use the result to filter high-like feedback, organize audience questions, archive research samples, hand off moderation leads, or continue in Excel, Google Sheets, data-cleaning scripts, and AI workflows. What you can export • Public comments from YouTube watch videos and Shorts • Top-level comments, with optional comment replies • A 1-5,000-row runtime guard, with Popup options for 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, or 5000 rows and 100 rows as the default • CSV, JSON, and XLSX formats, with CSV as the default • Comment body, author, like count, published time, reply depth, parent comment relationship, permalink, and related fields • Task progress, Pause, Resume, Stop, partial result download, and local History • A one-click Export comments button near the page comments area, plus automatic file download after completion How you can use it Feedback review Turn a public discussion under a video into a spreadsheet. Sort or filter by likes, publish time, author, or keywords to find repeated questions, objections, support signals, and ideas for the next piece of content. Post-publish comment triage After a video goes live, save the first hours or days of comments into a file. Review which questions need replies, which feedback belongs in an FAQ, and which points should move into the next content or product discussion. Audience research Keep a reviewable sample from one video or Short and study the words, needs, preferences, and repeated topics viewers use. This helps creators, researchers, and operations teams turn public feedback into reusable material. Cross-video sample comparison Export comments from several public videos separately, then compare topic, title, publish time, or format differences in your own spreadsheet or analysis workflow. Moderation handoff Send comments and replies that need more handling to support, community, content, or data teammates for labeling, cleanup, filtering, and archive work without manually copying the comment section. Local archive and spreadsheet work Save a snapshot of the comment section as CSV, JSON, or XLSX. You can later deduplicate, filter, sort, merge, or pass the file to your own scripts or AI tools. The extension itself does not generate conclusions, perform sentiment analysis, or contact comment authors. How to use 1. Open a public YouTube video or Short, or paste the target URL in the Popup. 2. Choose row count, whether to include replies, and CSV, JSON, or XLSX format. 3. Click Export comments on the page, or click Start export in the Popup. 4. Watch progress; Pause, Resume, or Stop when needed. 5. When export completes, the file downloads automatically. You can also re-download retained results from local History. What you get Exported fields can include commentId, videoId, parentCommentId, author, authorChannelUrl, body, publishedAt, likes, depth, replyCount, permalink, creator, and memberBadge. Actual fields depend on YouTube's current public response; values may be empty when the platform does not return a field. Cadence, stopping, and recovery The extension reads YouTube continuation pages serially and adds randomized timing between requests. Temporary network, timeout, parse, and server errors use limited retry and backoff. 429, 403, sign-in requirements, verification, age gates, disabled comments, access restrictions, rate limits, response schema changes, or a lost target tab can stop the task and require attention. Pause preserves confirmed rows, cursors, reply queues, and checkpoint state. Resume continues from that state, including after a browser extension background restart. Stop cancels the current task and, when rows have already been collected, keeps a partial result for download when possible. Privacy and local processing Export files, task records, checkpoints, and recent History stay local in Chrome and are not uploaded to Web Tidy servers. No Web Tidy account is required. The extension does not read, display, or store Cookie, Authorization tokens, or YouTube sign-in credentials. It only processes comment data returned by the current YouTube page context. Important limits This tool does not download YouTube videos, collect channel lists, export live chat or transcripts, perform sentiment analysis, provide author contact information, post automatic comments, or bypass YouTube access restrictions, verification, age gates, or rate limits. Web Tidy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. Support: https://webtidy.net/support
