Watch YouTube live chat in true fullscreen, in a panel beside the video that never covers it. Drag the divider between them to set the chat width. YouTube gives you chat at a width and a position you cannot change, with no setting anywhere to change either. YouTube Chat Dock turns it into a resizable side panel for live chat and chat replay, in fullscreen, theater mode and page view. How to use it in fullscreen: open a live stream with chat (or a past stream with chat replay), keep the chat panel open, press the player's fullscreen button, then drag the divider. The video is resized to fit beside the chat, so chat never covers the thing you came to watch, and the video is never cropped to make room. WHAT IT DOES • Drag the divider to set the chat width. Page, theater and fullscreen remember their widths separately, so going fullscreen doesn't undo your layout. • Double-click the divider to snap back to the default. • Focus the divider and resize with the arrow keys — Shift for bigger steps, Home and End for the limits. • Hover the divider and click the toggle to move chat to the other side. The choice persists. • Chat replay on VODs behaves exactly like live chat. • Narrow chat all the way down to 120px without messages getting clipped. • Right-to-left locales are handled properly — chat docks on the correct side and the divider flips with it. • Theater mode too. YouTube pins chat beside the player there at a width you cannot change — this makes that width yours, and the player follows it. • A settings popup in the toolbar: an on/off switch, all three widths, the side toggle, hover pause, replay recovery and a reset. Docking controls the layout and divider; hover pause and replay recovery have independent switches. • Pick your own interface language from 12, independently of your browser's. ONE PERMISSION, LOCAL SETTINGS The extension declares a single permission, "storage", and Chrome shows no permission prompt for it on install. It exists for one reason: the settings popup is a separate page and cannot otherwise reach the tab it is configuring. • No automatic data collection or sale. Optional external feedback includes the extension version and interface language in its URL. • No automatic extension network requests, analytics, telemetry or remote configuration. • No background service worker. Nothing runs when you are not on YouTube. • Your settings are stored in your own browser and never leave the device. • No account, no sign-in, no cloud sync. • No host permissions. It can act on youtube.com and nowhere else. HOW IT WORKS One stylesheet and four content scripts, injected on www.youtube.com, plus a toolbar popup. CSS controls layout; scripts handle settings, translation, resizing, replay recovery and hover pause. No extension build step or runtime dependency.
