YouTube AI Content Detector helps you spot videos labeled as altered or synthetic content—and choose how to respond: hide them completely, show a clear “AI” badge, or stop autoplay before the next AI video starts. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers (there are none). WHO IT’S FOR • Viewers who want less AI clutter in Home, Search, Related, and Shorts • Anyone who prefers an on-page warning instead of hiding • Creators checking local files for C2PA Content Credentials before upload WHAT YOU CAN DO • Hide AI videos — remove matching items from feeds, search, and sidebars • Warn with badges — overlay an “AI” badge on thumbnails with a short reason tooltip • Block AI autoplay — when the next video is AI-labeled, pause autonav and choose Stay or Play anyway • Hide all Shorts — optional filter for the Shorts shelf and tab (independent of AI detection) • Channel blocklist — block by channel ID (UC…) or handle (@…), from Options or a one-click button on the watch page • Local detection history — optional log (capped), export as JSON or CSV, delete anytime • Quick mute — turn the extension off for this page or the whole YouTube domain from the popup • Stats — today’s / this week’s / all-time detections in the popup (derived from your local history) HOW DETECTION WORKS This extension does not invent an AI “classifier” that guesses every video. It uses transparent signals: 1. YouTube’s own disclosure — “Altered or synthetic content” (and related labels) from YouTube’s page data, with a DOM fallback when needed 2. Creator self-disclosure — phrases and tags in descriptions (for example #AIgenerated, “made with Sora”) 3. C2PA on local files — on the Options page, drag-and-drop a file to check for Content Credentials markers (presence check; best on original files before re-encoding) Important: YouTube re-encodes uploaded video, so C2PA metadata is usually stripped from published videos. Use the C2PA check on files on your computer—not as a guarantee for videos already on YouTube. PRIVACY • No accounts, no analytics SDKs, no third-party trackers • Settings, blocklist, and detection history stay in chrome.storage.local on your device • Host access is limited to youtube.com so the extension can read disclosure signals and apply hide/badge/autoplay controls LIMITS (HONEST) • Detection follows YouTube labels, creator disclosure, and optional local C2PA—not every unlabeled AI video • YouTube changes page layout and APIs often; updates may be needed when selectors change • Label matching is strongest for English and Vietnamese UI strings; other locales rely more on structured JSON keys Install, open YouTube, and pick Hide, Badge, or Block autoplay from the popup.
