YouTube Ad Skipper
Overview
Automatically clicks the "Skip Ads" button on YouTube when it becomes available.
This extension provides a simple and lightweight way to automatically click the “Skip Ads” button on YouTube whenever it becomes available. It does not block ads or interfere with YouTube’s advertising system. Instead, it only automates the user-initiated action of skipping an ad after YouTube has allowed the viewer to do so. When an ad becomes skippable and YouTube displays the official “Skip Ads” button, the extension detects that button and performs a click on behalf of the user. This helps reduce repetitive manual actions and improves convenience for users who regularly watch YouTube content. The extension works only on YouTube pages, does not modify website content, and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It uses a very limited set of permissions, relying only on storage to save the user’s on/off preference. No background tracking, no browsing history access, and no additional site permissions are required. Its purpose is to offer a small accessibility enhancement by automating an existing, permitted interaction on the platform. It is designed to be privacy-friendly, safe, and aligned with Chrome Web Store policies.
