Everything is stored locally in your browser. No accounts, no servers, no tracking. —————————————— BOOKMARK TIMESTAMPS See something worth remembering? Press B (or click the bookmark icon in the player). The exact timestamp is saved. Open the extension popup to see all your bookmarks, sorted by time. Click any bookmark to jump straight back to that moment. CLIP SECTIONS Mark a start point with G, keep watching, then mark the end with H. You've defined a clip — a precise section of the video you can revisit anytime. Clips show their full time range (e.g., 00:24:01 - 00:27:44) so you always know what you saved. LABELED BOOKMARKS Every bookmark is auto-labeled with its timestamp. Want more detail? Press N to bookmark with a custom label, or E to edit an existing one. Label your bookmarks however makes sense to you — "key argument", "chorus starts", "recipe step 3". KEYBOARD-FIRST DESIGN Every action is mapped to a single key. No modifier keys, no combos — just press and go. Default shortcuts are clustered on the bottom two rows of your keyboard so your hands never leave position: B — Bookmark current timestamp N — Bookmark with label G — Start a clip H — End a clip U — End clip with label E — Edit label All shortcuts are fully customizable in the extension options. Remap any action to any key. —————————————— 100% LOCAL. ZERO DATA SENT. YMarx stores everything in chrome.storage.local — the browser's built-in local database. There are no API calls, no cloud syncing, no analytics pings, no telemetry. We literally have no server to send your data to. Your bookmarks exist only on your machine. Uninstall the extension and they're gone. No orphaned accounts, no data sitting on someone else's server. OPTIONAL CLOUD SYNC For users who want to access bookmarks across devices, YMarx offers an optional cloud sync mode. This is disabled by default and requires you to explicitly create an account and opt in. You can switch back to local-only mode at any time. —————————————— EXTENSION POPUP The popup organizes everything into clean tabs: Home — Stats for the current video (marks, clips) and all-time totals. Quick access to your most recent bookmarks. Marks — All timestamp bookmarks for the current video, sorted by time. Click any mark to jump to it. Clips — All saved clips for the current video, showing start and end times. Videos — Every video you've bookmarked, with mark counts. Click any video to open it on YouTube. Settings — Opens the options page to customize keyboard shortcuts and preferences. —————————————— PERMISSIONS — AND WHY WE NEED THEM YMarx requests only three permissions: storage — To save your bookmarks and settings locally in the browser. tabs — To detect which YouTube video you're watching so bookmarks are associated with the correct video. webNavigation — To detect when you navigate to a new YouTube video so the extension updates its state. The extension only runs on youtube.com. It does not access any other websites. It does not read your browsing history, it does not access your YouTube account, and it does not collect any personal information. —————————————— WHO IS THIS FOR?
