Years Are Short
Overview
A mindful new tab experience combining daily intention-setting with mortality visualization.
Years Are Short transforms your new tab into a moment of reflection. Instead of opening to a blank page or cluttered bookmarks, you're greeted with a calm space to set your intention for the day. Inspired by the Japanese concept of ichigo ichie—"one time, one meeting"—this extension reminds you that each day is singular and unrepeatable. What it does: Replaces your new tab with a minimal, distraction-free planning space Prompts you to set a daily intention with freeform input Displays a gentle visual reminder of time's passage Creates a brief pause before you dive into browsing Why it exists: The days are long, but the years are short. This extension is for anyone who wants to approach their digital day with a little more presence and a little less autopilot. Design philosophy: Clean, Japanese-inspired aesthetic No accounts, no tracking, no complexity Works alongside you, not against you
