YAIkes — elastic content filtering based on your own icks. Runs on-device.

YAIkes hides posts on LinkedIn, X and Reddit that match things you have said you do not want to see. You describe an ick in your own words — "humblebragging", "engagement bait", "recruiters writing like they are your friend" — and the extension reads each post on your feed and folds away the ones that match. Nothing is deleted and nothing is blocked: a hidden post collapses to one line you can click to open. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Most content filters match keywords. Keywords do not work for this, because an ick is a manner of writing rather than a word: nobody signals humblebragging by typing "humblebrag". YAIkes reads meaning instead. It carries a small language model inside the extension package and compares each post to what you described. That model runs on your own machine. There is no server, no account, and the extension never makes a network request of its own — not on first run, not ever. The model is part of the download rather than something fetched afterwards. (The one link in the popup, to a donation page, navigates your browser when YOU click it. Nothing happens on its own.) FOUR ICKS TO START WITH Humblebragging, engagement bait, crypto and AI hype, and recruiter spam. Turn on the ones you recognise and ignore the rest. Two more built-in filters run without a model at all: promoted posts, and the same post shown to you twice. ICKS OF YOUR OWN Write a sentence describing what bothers you and it becomes a filter. Keep as many as you like. IT LEARNS FROM YOU, NOT FROM EVERYONE When a post is a borderline match, the extension asks rather than guessing: a small bar appears offering "hide these" or "not this". Your answer teaches that one ick what you actually meant. That teaching stays on your machine and is never pooled with anyone else's. If you hide several posts by hand and they turn out to have something in common, YAIkes offers to turn that into a filter — but only after checking that you hide those posts more than your feed would explain on its own, so it is not just noticing what your timeline is already full of. WHAT IT KEEPS The wording of your icks, and numbers derived from posts — the ones you acted on, and once you have hidden something by hand, a rolling sample of recent posts you scrolled past too. That last part is how it tells a real dislike apart from whatever your feed is simply full of. Post text is never written to storage. Nothing is synced to a Google account, because a record of what you hide is not something to put on somebody else's server. Full detail, key by key, in the privacy policy. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO Free, all of it. No paid tier, no licence key, no trial, nothing held back. There is a link in the popup if you feel like buying me a coffee; it unlocks nothing, and the extension cannot tell whether you used it. No account. No sign-in. No analytics. No telemetry. No advertising. No reading of pages other than the three feeds it filters. No selling of anything to anybody.
