Reading in a language you are still learning means constant micro-interruptions: copy the word, switch tabs, search, come back, find your place again. yabt removes that loop. Hold Shift, hover a word, and the definition appears beside it — usually in under a tenth of a second, from a dictionary stored on your own device. WHAT IT DOES • Instant hover lookup — Hold Shift (configurable to Alt or Ctrl) and hover any word. English, French, Japanese, Spanish, German and Korean are supported. Inflected forms are restored to their dictionary form, including Japanese conjugation (食べさせられた → 食べる) with kana readings, Korean particle stripping, and German capitalised nouns. • Ask only when you are stuck — Press E while the bubble is open, or select a passage and press Alt+E, and yabt sends that word or selection together with the surrounding context to explain what it means here, not in general. Answers stream in beside the text. • Paragraph translation — Translated text appears below the source paragraph instead of covering what you were reading. • Voice questions — Press Alt+S, ask out loud, and get an answer that already knows what you are reading. Misheard? Click the transcript, fix it, press Enter. • Hear it, then hear yourself — Word audio and full-sentence speech, with 0.75× slow playback. Press R to record yourself and compare against the reference take.
