There is **no separate backend server** from the author. - Notes and configuration are stored in **chrome.storage.local** on your device. - The extension reads Coursera pages only to: - Detect course/module/lesson context - Pull transcript or reading content when you explicitly click a button - Extract visible quiz questions/options when you open the AI Quiz tab - When you click “Ask AI” or “Translate”, the relevant text (quiz and context) is sent **directly** from your browser to the AI provider you selected: - Quick AI (Pollinations) - Gemini, Groq, DeepSeek, Mistral, OpenRouter - Or your custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint - API keys you enter for Gemini / Groq / DeepSeek / Mistral / OpenRouter are stored only in chrome.storage.local and are never sent to any server owned by the author (xuanhieu.org).
