XMLNest – XML Viewer & XSLT Polyfill
Overview
Free XML viewer & formatter: read XML files, RSS feeds and sitemaps clearly, and see XSLT pages again. Private, no ads, no account.
XMLNest is a free XML viewer and formatter for Chrome. It shows any XML file as a clean, foldable tree, renders XSLT-styled pages after Chrome removes XSLT, reads RSS feeds and podcasts, checks XML sitemaps, and exports XML to JSON or CSV. Why now: Google Chrome™ removes its built-in support for XSL stylesheets in Chrome 158 (November 17, 2026). Styled RSS feeds, WordPress sitemaps, router and device status pages and some government portals will show raw code instead. XMLNest keeps them readable. ★ View and format any XML • Tree view: fold and unfold elements, search names and values, or run an XPath expression. Copy a node, its value or its path. • Formatted source view with line numbers; download the exact file in one click. • Export menu: save the document as formatted XML, as JSON, or as a CSV table when it is a list of records. • Clear errors: a broken file shows the exact line and column of the problem. • Open XML files from your computer too. ★ Styled pages keep working • Pages that use an XSL stylesheet (version 1.0) look the way Chrome used to show them, processed in an isolated sandbox. • Optional, site by site: restores the JavaScript API that web apps use to apply stylesheets. ★ Sitemaps • A fast table of every URL that you can filter, sort and export. • An Issues tab lists errors and warnings in plain words, each linked to its row. • For a sitemap index, load every listed file in one click (same site only) and see all URLs in one table. ★ RSS and podcasts • A clean reader view for feeds, with a built-in podcast player. ★ Private by design • No data collection, no ads, no account, no tracking. • No site access at install: turn it on everywhere in one click, or only on the sites you choose. • Scripts inside transformed pages never run unless you allow them. • Light and dark themes. Available in 55 languages. Independent project, not affiliated with Google. Uses the open-source xslt-polyfill library (BSD-3-Clause).
