XML Formatter
Overview
Format XML on click: syntax highlight, collapsible tree, line numbers, search. Runs only when you click the icon.
Chrome shows raw XML files as a plain, unstyled document tree. XML Formatter turns any XML page into a readable, explorable view - but only when you ask it to. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open any XML file or URL (RSS feeds, sitemaps, SOAP responses, config files). 2. Click the XML Formatter icon. 3. The page becomes a formatted tree. Click the icon again to restore the original page. FEATURES - Syntax highlighting for tags, attributes, text, CDATA, comments, and processing instructions - Collapsible tree with per-node expand/collapse plus Collapse all / Expand all - Line numbers - Search across tags, attributes, and text with next/previous navigation - Copy the whole document as pretty-printed XML - Raw / Formatted toggle - Dark mode (follows your system preference) - Handles XML served as text/plain and documents with XSLT stylesheet references - Large files stay responsive: very large documents start partially collapsed PRIVACY BY DESIGN This extension has no access to your browsing. It uses only the activeTab permission, which means it can touch a page only in the moment you click the icon, and only that tab. No background reading, no data collection, no network requests. Everything happens locally in your browser.
