xkcd Reading Tracker is an unofficial browser extension for xkcd. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to xkcd or Randall Munroe. Read through xkcd without losing your place. The extension adds lightweight controls directly to xkcd.com, a compact toolbar popup, and a dashboard for managing your collection. Highlights: - Track comics as read or unread and keep a dedicated continue-reading point. - Browse all comics, only unread comics, or your favorites using xkcd's familiar navigation. - Build a searchable favorites library with thumbnails, ratings, sorting, and filtering. - See reading progress, favorite statistics, rating averages, and your rating distribution. - Keep reading data in Chrome extension storage and export or restore complete JSON backups. More features: - Rate comics with five-star or 1-10 controls while keeping favorites independent from read state. - Add optional read/favorite actions and keyboard shortcuts to xkcd comic pages. - Show alt text below the comic immediately or after a delay, and open the matching Explain xkcd page. - View unread ranges, jump to their endpoints, and bulk mark comic numbers or ranges. - Preview and edit favorites inline, open a random filtered favorite, and export results as CSV, Markdown, or JSON. - Track newly published comics with a toolbar badge and active xkcd tabs with a full-color icon. - Use guided first-time setup, automatic read marking, configurable navigation, and playful or generic labels. - Restore default settings without losing reading data, or fully reset with an optional backup first. - Use light, dark, or system appearance for the dashboard. The extension has no analytics, account system, backend server, or remote code. Reading state stays in Chrome extension storage and may synchronize through Chrome when browser sync is enabled.
