Xivly
Overview
Read, annotate and organize research papers. Your library is a folder of plain files: PDFs with their annotations, and paper.json.
> Xivly is a calm reader for research papers: read, annotate and organize your PDFs, without distraction. > > • Highlight, box, draw, add arrows and text, and write notes in the margin. Annotations are saved inside the PDF, so any PDF reader sees them. > • Organize papers with categories, tags and read/unread status; search across your library. > • Click citations and figure references to preview them in place; follow links between papers. > • arXiv-aware: add a paper from its arXiv link; see its Hugging Face page, code and related models. > • Open in Xivly: right-click an arXiv, alphaXiv or Hugging Face paper, or any PDF link, to add it to your library and start reading. > • Light and dark themes, keyboard shortcuts for everything. > > Private by design: no account, no tracking, no server. Your library stays on your computer, in the browser's storage or a folder you choose. > > Xivly is open source and also available as a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux: https://github.com/julien-blanchon/xivly
