Overview

Every Canvas deadline in one queue, ranked. For a course you teach or TA, what is left to grade, longest wait first.

Kandue puts every Canvas deadline from every course into one queue, ranked by what to do first: how soon it is due and how much it counts toward your course grade. For a course you teach or TA, the same panel holds a second queue: which of your students still wait on a grade, longest wait first. It opens in Chrome's side panel, beside your work, from the toolbar button or from the Kandue item in Canvas's own navigation. If you hand work in - One queue of every deadline: overdue, due today, this week, later. Each row says when it is due, what kind of work it is, and what share of your course grade it carries. - Each assignment opens inside the panel: its instructions, why it ranks where it does, and a what-if for your course grade. Mark it done there. - Your announcements from every course in one list. - A find bar: type part of a name and it opens the course page, module item, assignment or announcement you meant. - Your deadlines in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook: Settings adds Canvas's own calendar feed, which keeps due dates current there. - Reminders only when they matter: a notification when work is due within 3 hours or has just gone overdue, and one morning summary. Settings sets quiet hours or turns them off. - Done on Canvas too: with write-back turned on in Settings, marking an assignment done here also marks it done on your Canvas planner. - Optional, off until you turn it on: connect Kandue to Claude. Ask Claude what is due and what to do first, and it answers from Kandue's ranked list, your assignments' instructions, announcements and grades. In a course you grade, Claude reads each quiz question's distinct answers with how many students gave each, and suggests a decision on each with its reason; you keep, change or drop each one and save. Claude changes no grade. If you grade - A queue of every assignment with students of yours still to grade, longest wait first (practice work that counts toward no grade is left out), and behind each the worklist for your block, each student linking straight into SpeedGrader. - Read and grade without SpeedGrader: a student opens on one page with their work beside a score and comment box. Word files are drawn as pages, PDFs and images open in Chrome's viewer, and files they attached to a comment are listed beside the submission's own. Saving checks Canvas first, so a grade another grader entered meanwhile is never overwritten unseen. - Who grades whom, worked out for you: an even block per grader in Canvas name order, moving on by one every assignment. It can also be read from the grades already entered, from Canvas groups named for the TAs, or set by hand. Students nobody has graded yet are named rather than dropped. - Find one student and see every assignment of theirs at once. - Your TA team's sheet, from Claude: with the Claude connection on, ask Claude what is left to grade and it reads it from Kandue by grader, student and team, with peer scores on request; Claude's own Google Sheets connector writes it into your team's sheet. Kandue itself edits no sheet. - The course report in a page of its own: every grader's backlog, the scores each grader gave against the course mean, each criterion's average from each grader, and every student's row. - Teams: who hands in each assignment (each student, every team, or only some teams) checked against Canvas, so a group set copied by hand with a member in the wrong team is caught before a group grade reaches the wrong students. Fixed in one click after a preview. Peer scores, from Canvas peer reviews or peer-evaluation Word files, in one table of who gave whom what, and entered as grades if you choose. - Comments students left that still wait on a reply, in the queue. Paste a sheet of comments onto an assignment in one go. - One morning summary of what waits in your block, beside your own deadlines. Settings sets quiet hours or turns it off. - Quizzes question by question: a student's answers beside the key with a score and comment on each, or one question across the class as its distinct answers, each decided once for everyone who gave it. A preview before every change Before it writes to a course you grade (group sets, comments you paste, grades from peer scores), Kandue shows exactly what will change and waits for your button press. Where it opens The toolbar button shows a brief: how your week stands, and the next thing to do, whether that is work to hand in or work to grade. From it, the side panel opens with the deadline queue and, for a course you teach or TA, the grading queue. The course report and Teams open on Kandue's dashboard page, which needs the width. Getting started Kandue works with the Canvas sign-in you already have and reads which role you hold in each course. On a .edu or instructure.com address it finds your Canvas by itself; on your school's own domain, enter the address in Settings. If you grade, check in Settings which students it puts in your block. Independent project, not affiliated with Instructure or Canvas LMS.
