QR Code Detector
Overview
Scan QR codes with a qr code detector that really decodes the visible tab, never opens links by itself, and has no subscription.
QR Code Detector reads the square that is already on your screen. You click the icon on the toolbar, and this qr code detector captures the visible browser tab and reads the code on it. You get the text, not a screenshot that sits there unread. When the little square is already in front of you — in mail, in a ticket, in an invoice, on a slide — the phone stays in your pocket. A qr code detector on the toolbar is faster than a camera. What this qr code detector does 1. Current Tab — the screen qr code detector captures the visible page. It starts by itself when the popup opens, and you do not need to look for a button. 2. Image — you paste a picture with Ctrl or Cmd+V, you drag files or a PDF into the panel, or you choose them. One picture stays in the popup. Several files or a PDF open a separate page that reads every file, with a Copy all button and a CSV file you can download. This is the image qr code detector, and it is the qr code scanner from image. 3. Camera — you read a printed square through a live camera preview. 4. Screen — you scan another window or a second display, even outside Chrome. 5. History — the extension keeps the texts you decoded recently on this device, and the Clear button removes them. Each result appears on a separate line, and every line has a Copy button next to it. When a result is a link, you can click it, but the Copy button stays the main action. Three more ways to scan, without opening the popup ➤ You right-click a picture, and the qr code detector extension reads it. The Copy button places the text on your clipboard. The Open in new tab command opens a link only when you choose it. This way any page becomes a qr code scanner for pc. ▸ You press Alt+Shift+Q and drag a rectangle around the part of the screen you want to read. The extension reads that rectangle at once, inside a PDF tab, a chat window, or a paused call. • You switch on the page highlighter and grant access once. The extension then draws a thin outline around every square on the page, and one click on an outline copies the text. Reads difficult squares that a single-pass qr code reader misses - Codes that are rotated, tilted, mirrored or inverted, so white on black works as well as black on white. - Low-contrast codes, and dense ones that hold hundreds of modules. - Blurry phone shots, glare, monitor photographs, and marks with a logo in the middle. A ZXing engine reads the picture first, with a jsQR fallback. It then tries again with other settings, so it reads what a plain qr code reader misses. Where a scanner on the desktop helps you 1️⃣ You open a boarding pass or an e-ticket in a PDF tab. 2️⃣ You need the payment square on an invoice as text, not as a photograph. 3️⃣ You point the camera at a Wi-Fi sticker, and the network name and the password appear as a line you can copy. 📌 Three clicks from start to finish You open a page with a square, click the icon, read the list and press Copy. If you prefer to scan qr code from image, you paste the picture or choose the files, and you do not need a scan qr code online website. A few details worth knowing - The camera uses Chrome's own prompt and stops when you close the popup. - Screen sharing can continue after the popup closes; you stop it with the Stop button. - The right-click command, the rectangle, the highlighter, the popup and a batch of files write into one list. - The chrome qr code detector asks for no account, for no sign-up and for no subscription. Also reads the striped codes The same engine reads barcodes as well — EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF, Codabar — and it reads Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec. You can use any mode on such a code, and the number appears in the same list. Squares remain the main work of this online qr code detector. 💡 What the extension does not do: it does not create marks, it only reads them, and it never opens a link without your permission. Short answers Q: Does my picture go to a server? A: No. The picture and the decoded text stay on your computer. A welcome page opens once at install, and the feedback and uninstall forms open only when you choose them. Q: Can I use this qr scanner without a phone? A: Yes. A qr detector reads what is already on your monitor, so you do not need a phone. Q: Is this a qr code reader online that I have to open first? A: No. The qr code detector app sits on the toolbar and works on the page you have. Q: Can it find several codes on one page? A: Yes. Every code it finds appears on a separate line with its own Copy button. The qr code detector from image or from the visible tab reads the square that is in front of you, and it does not open the link until you ask.
