)Overview
Text snippet manager: save emails, addresses and AI prompts, then paste them into any field with a right-click. Synced.
Save the text you retype all day, then put it in any field in one move. HandyPaste keeps your e-mail addresses, postal addresses, wallet addresses, phone numbers, URLs, JSON payloads and AI prompts in a small tree of folders — and puts every one of them a right-click away from every text box in the browser. THREE WAYS TO PASTE • Right-click any editable field. Your folders are the menu: click a snippet and it lands at the caret, in the field you were already typing in. • Open the toolbar popup and type two letters. Press Enter and the snippet goes into the page you came from — or copy it to the clipboard instead. • Press Ctrl+Shift+Space (⌘⇧Space on a Mac). A picker opens over the page itself: search, arrow keys, Enter. The mouse never comes into it. The snippets you reached for most recently sit in a "Recent" submenu at the top of the right-click menu, so the handful you paste all day stay one click away. SNIPPETS THAT FILL THEMSELVES IN Put a placeholder in a snippet and HandyPaste resolves it while it pastes: • {{date}} and {{time}} — today's date, the current time • {{date:YYYY-MM-DD}} — the date, in the format you asked for • {{cursor}} — where the caret should be left sitting afterwards • {{input:First name}} — asks you for the value, then pastes it in Anything else inside double braces is left exactly as you typed it, so Jinja and Handlebars templates survive being kept here. ORGANISED THE WAY YOU THINK • Folders, nested as deep as you like — the tree you build is the right-click menu you get. • Drag a row to reorder it, or drop it into a folder. • "Quick add" saves a new snippet from the popup, straight into the folder you pick, without leaving the page. • Select text on any page, right-click, "Save selection as snippet" — give it a name and it is in the tree. • Built-in time and date entries in the menu, for when you only need a timestamp. • Light, dark and system themes. The popup, the options page and the in-page picker all follow the one setting. YOURS, AND ONLY YOURS • Snippets live in Chrome's sync storage, so they follow your Chrome profile to your other computers. • Export the lot to a single JSON file whenever you want, and import it back. • A storage panel shows how much of Chrome's sync budget you have used, and clears out anything left behind. • Four permissions, and no more: storage, contextMenus, scripting and activeTab. No host permissions, no access to your browsing history, no analytics, no account, no server. Nothing you save ever leaves your browser. GOOD TO KNOW Snippet text is stored unencrypted in Chrome's sync storage, in the same way a bookmark is. HandyPaste is not a password manager — please don't keep passwords, seed phrases or anything secret in it. Chrome's sync limits apply: about 100 KB in total, 8 KB for any single snippet, and roughly 500 snippets. The extension tells you before a snippet is too big to save. Works in Chrome and in Chromium browsers such as Opera and Edge. Made by bypop.dev. There is a feedback link on the options page — bug reports and ideas are genuinely welcome.
