# GETMEMO GETMEMO is a simple, lightweight memo pad you can open with a single click from your browser toolbar. No accounts. No cloud. Your notes stay on your own device. ## WHAT IT DOES - **Simple two-pane layout** Your memo list is on the left, and the editor is on the right. Find and edit your notes without switching views. - **Instant search** Search titles and body text as you type. Separate words with spaces to narrow down results — all words must match (AND search). Matching text is highlighted, and the matching line appears right below each title. Press Esc to clear the search. - **Automatic saving** No save button needed. Your changes are saved automatically. - **Drag to reorder** Drag memo rows to arrange your notes in any order you like. - **Titles, body text, or just a URL** Add a title and body to any memo, or simply paste a URL and move on. - **One-click copy** Click the button next to a memo's title to copy both its title and body to your clipboard. - **Download all your memos** Export all your notes as a single text file (`YYYY-MM-DD_getmemo.txt`). Memos are neatly separated, and you choose where to save the file. ## MOVE YOUR MEMOS (EXPORT / IMPORT) - **Export as JSON** Use the ☰ menu in the top-right corner to export all your memos to a JSON file. It's easy to move your notes to another browser or PC. - **Import without overwriting** Imported memos are merged with your existing notes — your existing memos are never replaced. If the same memo exists in both places, the newer version takes priority based on its last-updated timestamp. - **A note about deleted memos** Deletions are not carried over. If you import an older export that still contains a memo you've deleted, that memo may reappear. ## SIMPLE BY DESIGN - No account, no API key, no cloud setup. - Install it and start using it right away. - A short getting-started memo is included on first launch, with both English and Japanese versions. - Your notes stay on your device, with no reliance on external services. ## PRIVACY - **No data collection or transmission** Your memos are stored in `chrome.storage.local`. Nothing is sent to any remote server. - **No network connections** GETMEMO makes no network requests. - **Everything stays on your device** Copying, exporting, importing, and downloading are all handled locally. - **Download permission only when needed** The optional `downloads` permission is requested when you download a file for the first time, allowing you to choose where it is saved.
