Overview

Bulk actions on the tabs you already selected, from Chrome's tab strip menu. No dashboard, no sidebar, no host permissions.

Select several tabs the way you already do — Cmd/Ctrl+click, or Shift+click for a range — then right-click any of them and pick an operation. No dashboard, no sidebar, no new interface to learn. FOUR OPERATIONS - Sort selected by domain — gathers the selected tabs at the leftmost selected position and orders them by hostname. - Group selected by domain — creates a labelled tab group per hostname. Single-tab domains are left alone. - Reverse selected order — gathers the selection in reverse strip order. - Close duplicate URLs in selection — closes tabs whose exact URL already appears further left. Right-clicking a tab outside the selection acts on that tab alone, matching the rest of Chrome's tab strip menu. Pinned tabs are always excluded. TABS ALREADY IN A GROUP Sort and Reverse refuse a selection containing grouped tabs, and tell you why. Chrome keeps tab groups contiguous and enforces that during a move, which can produce an order different from the one requested and quietly drop a tab out of its group. Rather than let that happen silently, TabWright declines and asks you to ungroup first. Group and Close duplicates are unaffected by this. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No host permissions. No content scripts. No network requests. No analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, no storage. Nothing is read from page content and nothing leaves your browser. TabWright needs the "tabs" permission to read tab URLs and titles — sorting, grouping and deduplication are impossible without them. Chrome shows this at install as "Read your browsing history," which is the strongest phrasing Chrome has for that permission. It is used only to carry out the operation you clicked. The full source is short and dependency-free — about 250 lines of JavaScript, plus tests. Read it at https://github.com/antrixy/tabwright Requires Chrome 151 or later.
