Plyph is an open-source AI assistant that lets you use your preferred AI service directly with selected text on web pages. Unlike traditional writing assistants, Plyph isn't limited to grammar correction or rewriting. You can ask questions, generate responses, analyze content, transform text, or create your own AI-powered actions using custom instructions. USE YOUR EXISTING AI ACCESS Sign in with your ChatGPT account to use supported subscription access without a separate API key. Alternatively, connect other compatible AI services using your own API keys, or run models through a local AI server. No separate Plyph account or registration is required. Selected text is sent to your configured AI service only when you explicitly run an action. Credentials and preferences are stored locally in Chrome extension storage, with optional password-based encryption for API keys. History is disabled by default. When enabled, inputs and generated results are stored locally. Compatible local AI servers allow processing without sending selected text to a cloud AI provider. HOW IT WORKS Select text on a web page, choose an action or enter your own instructions, and let your configured AI service process it. Review the result, copy it, or replace the original text directly. Plyph supports standard input fields, text areas, contenteditable elements, and many rich-text editors. Plyph is an independent open-source project and is not affiliated with the AI services it connects to. Note: Chrome restricts extension functionality on certain protected pages, including internal browser pages and the Chrome Web Store.
