Overview
See how news articles connect claims to visible sources, passages, and reporting evidence.
📰 Understand how a news article supports what it says—right from Chrome. Open an article and select Analyze this page. Veritas Shield shows the article’s major claims, the sources and passages connected to them, the evidence snapshot, and all seven reporting areas that shaped its score. 🔎 See the evidence clearly • Find the claims that deserve a closer look. • See which passages connect to each claim and whether they support, contradict, or add context. • Review quotes, named sources, records, and other visible evidence in context. • See the check results of the claims to review first, such as Supported or Couldn't confirm, as the website shows them. • Understand what strengthened or weakened the reporting-evidence score. 📖 Read with less clutter Open Reader for a focused version of the article, with important evidence available when you need it. Choose the side panel to keep a report beside the article as you move between tabs. 🧠Explore the complete report Continue to the Veritas Shield website for Evidence Atlas, detailed scoring explanations, and the full claim-by-claim report. ✨ Works with articles that are harder to access If a website prevents normal analysis from reading the full article, Deep Scan can read the article already open in Chrome—including one you signed in to view. It runs only when you start it or approve a request from the Veritas Shield Analyzer. When a claim check on the Veritas Shield website needs a social post, Deep Scan sends only that post’s own text and pictures, never the rest of the page you are signed in to. 🎬 Check videos too On a video page, Analyze this video opens the Veritas Shield Video Analyzer with the link filled in. If the Video Analyzer cannot fetch the link, Use the words this page shows sends the page’s title, channel, date, description and captions instead. No video file is downloaded. 🧰 Every tool, one click away The extension’s start page lists Articles, Videos, Briefing, PDFs, Social posts and your History. Each opens on the Veritas Shield website. Veritas Shield evaluates the reporting evidence visible in an article. It does not declare whether an article is true or rank publishers by reputation. Your website plan and extension use the same Veritas account. Before an analysis, the extension checks that it works with the current analysis engine. Veritas Shield needs Chrome 114 or later.
