QR Scanner — Right-click to decode

Right-click a QR code on any web page (or drag a box around one) to decode it. Nothing is uploaded — decoding happens locally.

Decode any QR code you come across while browsing, without reaching for your phone. • Right-click a QR code image and choose "Scan this QR code". • Or press Alt+Shift+Q (or click the toolbar icon) and drag a box around anything on screen — this works for codes drawn on a canvas, used as a CSS background, or paused in a video, which have no image to right-click. The result appears in the corner of the page, ready to copy. Links are never opened for you. You see the full address first and decide whether to open it, so a code that points somewhere it shouldn't can't take you there behind your back. Only http, https, mailto, tel, sms and geo links can be opened at all. Codes are understood, not just dumped as text: • Links — shown with their domain, opened only when you click • Wi-Fi — network name, password and security type listed separately • Contact cards, calendar events, email, phone, SMS and map coordinates • Two-factor (otpauth) secrets — flagged so you know to treat them like passwords • Anything else — as plain text Everything happens on your computer. The extension has no server, sends no analytics, and never uploads an image or a decoded result anywhere. It asks for no access to your browsing: it can only touch a page at the moment you ask it to scan one, and it forgets that access as soon as you navigate away.
