Save a whole web page as a PDF with selectable, searchable text and working links. Crop, annotate, or export PNG, JPEG or Markdown.

Page Scanner saves a whole web page as a PDF whose text is still text: selectable, searchable, with working links, and with graphics that stay sharp at any zoom. Click the toolbar icon or press Alt+Shift+P, choose the width the page is laid out at, and press Scan. The page is laid out once at its full height, and the preview and the PDF both come from that one layout, so the crop you draw in the editor is exactly the region in the file. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Crop to any region, or keep the whole page. • Export a PDF (one long page, or A4 or US Letter with page breaks that avoid the text), a PNG, a JPEG, Markdown or a Word document. A PNG can go straight to the clipboard. • Mark it up with shapes, arrows, a highlighter, text and emoji. Blur, redact or erase what should not be seen: the text underneath is rewritten or removed in the PDF, not just covered. • Find email addresses, phone and card numbers, API keys and other sensitive text, and hide them in one step. • Add a frame, a stamp with the page's address and the time, your logo and name, or a watermark. • Leave out ads, cookie banners, chat widgets and pop-ups (on by default). • Open a PDF or a picture from your disk and do the same to it. • Keep a look as a named preset. Light and dark themes. PRIVACY Captures stay in your browser and are deleted after 12 hours. There are no host permissions: the extension touches only the tab you scan, at the moment you scan it. Anonymous usage statistics (which features were used, never a page's address, title or content) go to Google Analytics, and one switch in the settings turns them off. LOCAL AI AGENTS (OPTIONAL, OFF BY DEFAULT) An AI agent on your own computer can ask for a capture over MCP once you run `npx @page-scanner/cli install` and press Connect in the settings. The extension then talks only to that helper, on 127.0.0.1. CHROME'S DEBUGGER BAR A vector PDF comes from Chrome's own print-to-PDF pipeline, which extensions reach through the debugger API. While a scan runs, Chrome shows a "Page Scanner started debugging this browser" bar. It is Chrome's notice, not the extension's; it goes away a few seconds after the scan, and it cannot be hidden. Nothing is inspected or sent anywhere. LIMITS • chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store and other extensions' pages cannot be scanned. • With DevTools open on the tab, the PDF holds a picture of the page and its text cannot be selected. • A page is captured up to 60,000 pixels tall; the settings raise that to 240,000.
