No. Local mode doesn't need a third-party AI account or key. Add an API key only if you'd like to connect your own provider. 📌 What's free, and what costs money? There's no monthly fee, and credits never expire. 📌 Is my text sent to the cloud? Local models are the default and process text on your device. If you choose OpenTrans cloud or your own API provider, the relevant text is sent to that service for processing. 📌 Why does the first setup take a while?
