Couch Controller

Overview
Use your game controller like a TV remote: scroll, control video playback, switch tabs, go fullscreen, set custom bindings.
Use your game controller as a remote for Chrome. Couch Controller lets you control videos, scroll pages, switch tabs, and type searches from the sofa with an Xbox, PlayStation, or another compatible gamepad. NEW IN VERSION 1.1.0 • Open quick controls on the webpage to see your button mappings, access the keyboard and settings, or pause controller input • Pause controls in one tab or disable them for a website • Hold Back + Start (Share + Options) for one second to open quick controls and resume paused or disabled controls • Check controller connection, page support, and control status in the extension popup • Follow a short setup guide when you first install • More reliable short button presses and settings saves PLAYBACK • Play or pause videos, mute audio, and adjust volume • Seek forward or backward with the triggers or D-pad • Adjust playback speed • Toggle video or browser-window fullscreen BROWSING • Scroll with the left stick and move a virtual cursor with the right stick • Click with R3 • Open the on-screen keyboard with L3 to type searches • Switch, open, close, and reopen tabs • Go back or forward, reload, and jump to the top or bottom of a page CUSTOM CONTROLS • Remap every button • Assign actions to button combinations, such as LB + RB to open a new tab • Open a favorite website with a button or combo • Assign keyboard shortcuts, such as YouTube’s “c” for captions • Adjust scroll speed, cursor speed, seek distance, volume increments, and stick deadzone • Turn on-screen action feedback on or off • Sync your preferences through your Chrome profile QUICK CONTROLS Press Home / Guide to open the menu when your controller and operating system support it. You can also hold Back + Start for one second or open it from the extension popup. Use the D-pad or either stick to navigate, A / Cross or R3 to select, and B / Circle to close. Back + Start is reserved for quick controls and recovery. It takes priority over custom combos containing both buttons. GETTING STARTED Install the extension, connect your controller through USB or Bluetooth, and open a normal webpage. Refresh pages that were already open before installation, then press a controller button. Try the left stick to scroll or A / Cross to play or pause a video. GOOD TO KNOW • The webpage needs focus to receive controller input • Chrome settings, the default New Tab page, and the Chrome Web Store cannot be controlled • Some embedded or protected video players may limit playback controls • Website shortcuts depend on whether the site accepts simulated key presses • Controller support depends on Chrome’s Gamepad API PRIVACY Couch Controller does not collect browsing history or send usage analytics. No account is required. Your preferences, including disabled-site choices, are saved using Chrome’s sync storage and can sync through your Google account.
